Maison et Objet 2017 Design Highlights

 In Behind The Scenes

This month the Rachel Winham Interior Design team went on their annual trip to Maison et Objet 2017 in Paris to discover all of the best kept secrets and upcoming designers within the interiors world.

Surrounded by beautiful wallpaper and inspiring craftsmanship, we visited de Gournay for tea and delicious petite fours.

One of the highlights of the design show was the ‘Ya Ya’ light installation by Maxim Pien and Luc Vincent. This would definitely create a wow factor in any space.

Camilla Hegarty:
“One of my favourite finds at Maison et Objet was “Magic Circus” a French lighting brand which creates brass and and glass modern statement lighting. I loved the glass orb wall lights and the tall pendant lights. The lights are handmade and inspired by 1930s French designs. The designer, Marie-Lise Fery describes it as “The perfect balance between fantasy and sophistication”. The lights are restrained in style with elegance and a touch of whimsy!”

Olivia Cartwright:
“One of my favourite stands at Maison Objet had to be that of Missoni Home. Having always loved their 60’s inspired patterns and their use of colour it was interesting to see how they have transpired their vision into their new home collection. I am particularly fond of this post-modernist sofa, upholstered in their famous zig-zag pattern.”

Rachel Battais:
“My favourite product during the show is the Brass Wall Sculpture from  Martha Study. The artist cuts and patina the Brass after she twists it into the perfect fluid shape. Each pieces are unique and I believe will make it a real impact within the space.”

Siobhan Doran:
“My favourite supplier was Atelier du Renard, who specialises in leather upholstery and luxury design. All of their pieces showcase amazing detail and craftsmanship with intricate embroidery.”
