The International Design & Architecture Awards 2017

 In Events

We have recently been shortlisted for the Residential £20 Million plus (Property by value) and Bespoke Cabinetry award in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2017.

This is focused on our showroom joinery and the Master suite at our Queen Anne’s Gate project.

Bespoke joinery featured in our studio

The brief was to create an exceptional bespoke Joinery feature, which could easily be viewed from the street to entice clientele to enter the showroom. The concept alluded lightly to the Brutalism movement, which considers beauty through its acquirement of rough, aged textures and the contrasting of different materials. The use of a smooth, honed timber as the main body of the unit has been contrasted beautifully with moveable timber up-stand shelving, generously coated in a rigidly textured bronze liquid metal finish. The subtle lighting embedded within the shelving of the joinery adds a gentle hint of understated glamour, along with the perfectly polished antique mirrored backdrop. Ultimately the design was formulated to showcase the high-end bespoke service which Rachel Winham Interior Design provides, where the main focus is on creating unique pieces, be it furniture or joinery, with uncompromising detailing whilst ensuring functionality.

Queen Anne’s Gate | Master Suite

The team at RWID were keen to continue the high level of craftsmanship and design along with bespoke joinery and luxurious furnishings throughout the bedrooms, least not in the master. The master bedroom suite is swathed in delicately soft hues of blue, offset against warm bronze tones and a floor to ceiling cream headboard, giving off a soothing, almost ethereal feel to the space. A beautiful chandelier above the bed helps combine the old with the new. Leading off the bedroom is an equally meticulously designed dressing room. The smart monochrome palette of this generous sized dressing room blends neutral tones with hand-crafted specialist joinery, clad in the softest of leather and framed with a stunning bronze inlay detail. The adjacent his and hers bathrooms are enveloped by walls and flooring of the most luxurious marble and intricately designed vanity units and joinery to meet the most demanding of storage requirements.
