Rachel Winham Interior Design | Highlights of 2017

2017 was a great year for the Rachel Winham team! After launching our first showroom at the end of 2016, we have gone on to sell our own range of bespoke cushions and small accessories with a new exciting line to launch this year.
Here is a summary of our 2017 highlights:

March was off to a great start as we welcomed my second gorgeous little boy, Gabriel Malka!

Adding another addition to our family meant one thing… designing a new nursery! Gabriel moved in to Reuben’s nursery so it was actually Reuben who got the new room. As a lover of travel I wanted a word map wallpaper so I customised the design with Little Hands Wallpaper and specified the animals and colours. Reuben hasn’t quite mastered where he’d like to travel on holiday but does know which animals he’d like to go and see. Designing a room for a child is probably one of the most enjoyable spaces to design …. especially when it’s in your own home! The tepee tent from Pottery Barn Kids is perfect for our bedtime stories!

Like mother like son…Gabriel helping us with some fabric scheming and perfectly colour coordinating of course!!

Although we completed some amazing projects throughout the course of 2017, there was one property that stood out in particular for us – our 2946 sq ft penthouse project located in Battersea.

The impressive 360 degree views looking across the River Thames and the London skyline provided the perfect backdrop for our beautifully crafted bespoke interiors.

The inspiration behind the penthouse was livable luxury; a space that is both comfortable and elegant.

Having visited Maison Object, Paris and Salone Del Mobile, Milan, we finished the year with a team trip to Miami! We fell in love with the amazing architecture and designs of the bars and restaurants…. This is work, honestly!! We particularly loved the fun and quirky bar “The Living Room” in The Faena Hotel, South Beach. Whilst admiring the interiors, we enjoyed one too many bespoke cocktails! 1 Hotel, South Beach was another one of our favourites….. The stunning rustic interiors offset with a neutral colour palette and clean lines created a calming and cool space. The house scent of the hotel inspired us to launch our own candle this year….. Watch this space!
